The mission of the Office of the General Counsel is to protect the legal interests of the Board of Governors of the Colorado State University System (“System”) and its constituent institutions Colorado State University, Colorado State University-Pueblo, and Colorado State University-Global Campus.
The General Counsel is the chief legal officer of the System and represents the Board of Governors and its constituent institutions in all legal matters. The General Counsel is selected by the Board of Governors upon the recommendation of the Chancellor.
The Office of the General Counsel does not provide legal advice or representation to individual members of the Colorado State University System regarding matters against the university or where the interests of the university and the interests of the individual are not aligned. Further, the Office of the General Counsel does not provide legal services or representation for personal matters.
